Boyne City Woman Charged With Murder

Rachael Marie Crisman, 30, of Boyne City, was charged with open murder this morning. She will be arraigned on Thurs., Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the 90th District Court.

Open murder is a charge where the prosecuting attorney does not specify whether the murder committed was first degree or second degree. It carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

In the late afternoon of Oct. 25, a neighbor called police to report that she had seen Crisman struggling or fighting with someone. Moments later, she saw Crisman come out of her home, at 606 E. Main Street, Boyne City, covered in blood.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Regina Plevinski, Crisman’s mother, deceased inside the home.

Crisman was taken into custody at the scene and is currently at the Charlevoix County Jail.

The charge against Crisman is a mere allegation at this point and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
