Charlevoix County PA Office News Release 9/10/15

Mathew Robert DeNise, 21, Charlevoix, admitted robbing the Charlevoix E-Z Mart store with an accomplice on March 26, 2013, as part of his plea to a charge of attempted armed robbery.

DeNise admitted entering the store with Dennis McKee, 21, Charlevoix, who, on August 7, was sentenced to 36 to 120 months in prison for his role in the robbery.  Both men stated in their plea hearings that McKee pretended to have a gun in order to scare the clerk into handing over money.

Attempted armed robbery is a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

DeNise will be sentenced on October 16 in the 33rd Circuit Court by the Honorable Roy C. Hayes III.
